Yesterday was my day off from working out, but while at camp I was walking around a great deal and playing really a couple of games with the high schoolers. Because we went skiing the day before and they stayed up so late that night, no less than they were tired final night. Everyone was quiet and asleep by midnight and we didn't have breakfast till 8am yesterday, so I was in a position to acquire a a lot far better sleep.

pulled pork empanadas so, our day one agenda consisted of visits to Owl Creek Vineyard, Blue Sky Vineyard, Orlandini Vineyards, and finally Star View Vineyards. This makes for a leisurely, interesting day, with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and a local lunch stop.

Combine the cider vinegar with the apple juice, brown sugar and reserved spice mixture. Mix well. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of this liquid mixture for later use. The remaining amount will be used to baste the pork shoulder during the long cooking process; do this about every 45 minutes and turn the pork shoulder over at the same time. You want to cook the pork shoulder until it reaches an internal temperature of 190 degrees F; this should take about 8 hours. Remove the cooked pork from the gas grill and let it rest for 20 minutes, then shred with two forks. Place the bbq pulled pork hash into a serving dish.

Another place I like in Memphis is Charlie Vergo's Rendezvous. Now I have only been there a couple of times, not because of the taste, but because of the seating. The few times I went it was crowded. Now when I do get a chance to eat there, I always order their baby back ribs. I'm not to fond of dry ribs, but Rendezvous's are very delicious. The seasoning that's on them has a very distinctive taste. I can't quite tell you what it tastes like, just know that it is very, very good. And the meat just falls of the bone. Out of all my years of eating ribs, I would have to say theirs is the most tender I have ever eaten.

1 Can of beer of your choice. And for those that have an issue with gluten,Wegman's sells a gluten free beer called Redbridge. Also for those who don't like beer Samantha says a can of cola works just slow cooker bbq pulled pork as good.

Service overall was very good. We only had a 15 minute wait after arriving at 6:00 on a Saturday night which is very good for our area. Our waitress was very nice and interacted with our one year old son when she came to the table each time. She told us she had a one and two year old at home and seemed very friendly with him which was nice.

We came here on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was comfortably filled, but not packed. We were told that during busy times like the weekends, a wait of 30 minutes is not uncommon. You may want to keep bbq pulled pork that in mind.

No, you don't have to become a vegetarian and you don't have to stock up on expensive soy products. Simply rethink your meals. Love chili? Who says you have to load it up with meat?
